Nike Shoreditch Pop-Up Shop, August 2008
Leading up to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, my friends A-Cyde and Remi Kabaka, on behalf of Nike London, hired me to “decorate” one of the car parks under the railway arches near Curtain Road, Shoreditch. We decided on a monochromatic range of greys, and chose to show Nike-sponsored atheletes past and present.
I had wished for smooth walls, on which I could have painted way quicker, and used sweeping wet brush-strokes to convey movement; but I had to manage with brick instead…
